    If a company does not have any goals, how would you know the objective of the company? Unlike the line used in the article from Fast Company.com, “Who needs a long-term strategy when everyone’s goal is simply to ‘get big fast’?” (Hammonds, 2007) Unlike this article, The Coca-Cola Company did set some clear goals for their company. This company’s goals tell us exactly what they would like to do for the world.

Each of the four elements clearly defines the objectives of this company, telling us what the company would like to accomplish and or achieve. All of the accomplishments will bring success to the company, which equals income or money for the stakeholders. One example is when the goals state,  “Focus on needs of our consumers, customers and franchise partners.”

    This allows the company to provide the things required by consumer, which will increase profits. Another example is listed in the values, “Maximize long-term return to shareowners while being mindful of our overall responsibilities.” This value states within its statement how it accounts for the stakeholder’s interests. Actually, each value listed, supports the interest of the stakeholder’s. The mission and vision statements are a map pointing in the direction of great success for the stakeholder’s.

    Coca-Cola’s mission statement, social, and ethical goals are helpful expressing the overall purpose of the company, and how its decisions and actions are taken. The company has created these support projects and programs because it is, “committed to investing our time, expertise and resources to help develop and maintain vibrant, sustainable and local communities” (Coca-Cola). Coca-Cola wants to create solutions to the difficult problems that it’s faced with, and these programs are how it accomplishes its goals.
    The main process of responding is through the Coca-Cola Foundation that was established in 1984. This is a global foundation with a goal to support initiatives that deal with the issues listed above. As for the health concerns, the foundation tries to encourage a nutritional and active lifestyle. This consists of providing access to exercise, physical activity, and proper education on health.
